The Valmet team set out to reduce energy use, cut emissions, and improve process stability — all while maintaining high productivity.
To do that, they replaced their old open-flame ladle heaters with a state-of-the-art promeos® ladle heating system.
Real Impact from the first day:
50% less energy use
The new system saves 1,300 MWh of natural gas every year.
This is a direct result of switching to promeos® flameless burner technology.
260 tonnes less CO₂
Lower fuel consumption means 260 tonnes fewer CO₂ emissions annually.
This supports Valmet’s ambitious environmental goals.

Thanks to energy and cost savings, the project pays for itself quickly.
